English Languages Programs and Resources in the ACT There are many opportunities for adults for whom English is an additional language to learn and develop their English language skills in the ACT region. Here are some.
Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) The (AMEP) is funded by the Australian government and provides up to 510 hours of English language tuition to eligible migrants and humanitarian entrants to help them learn foundation English language and settlement skills to enable them to confidently participate in Australian society. From February 2015, the program will be delivered in the ACT by Navitas English and KU Children’s Services. CIT: English as a second language courses NOTE: These courses are ACT Government subsidised. Students on Centrelink income support can get a concession plus fee assistance. Fee assistance is also available to those on a low income.
